clarecorthell this used to happen to me *all the time*, the homebrew docs have a one-pager about how to set up osx permissions in /Library/Python so you ~never need to use sudo afterwards for py/rb (not sure why they're not default settings) github.com/Homebrew/brew/blob/master/docs/Gems%2C-Eggs-and-Perl-Modules.md
