    1. i don't doubt #variablefonts will be useful, but many folks still can't wrap their heads around ot features b/c tooling is so complex

      e.g. fontlab still supported MM fonts up until 2010, which is how i produced the specimen for fontasm.tumblr.com/post/150643348212/lance-hidys-penumbra-mm-is-probably-the-greatest
