ProvablyFlarnie dan_abramov at the time what i remember people celebrating was how deep in the auteur-hole it was (esp as a followup to pi) although i think it also had the same issue that Enter The Void did where it's Incredibly Striking™ but also a weirdly flat story esp. compared to Trainspotting et al.
