teganmierle dude, big island rocks, def rent a car and get a 4x4 if you want to drive out to makalawena and green sands (although i think mauna kea summit is closed to non-staff these days). i really liked hilo/cap cook/volcano/waimea, not super into kona, but it did have a costco 😹
