bryanjclark i have been using vim since ~98, which is a long time, but sublime is a better experience for the dev work i do most of the time. vim still has issues w/ stuff like highlighting or fuzzy finding that are trying to make up for specific ui/platform limitations.

bryanjclark i like how vim encourages you to fluidly switch between editing modes, it lets you do a lot without leaving the keyboard, but imo it struggles mightily to emulate "modern conveniences" because it just wasn't designed for it. onivim looks cool though!

bryanjclark i say this as somebody that "returns to vim" every few years and is constantly impressed but never "won over". it feels like it's on me, but i don't think it's my fault anymore. (i still use it all the time when i'm shelling into machines though so w/e)
