androidqueen depends the recipe, but if i'm baking, i just tare after each dry ingredient in one bowl and hope i don't overdo it. for stuff that gets cooked separately i.e. garlic/herbs/etc i'll sometimes just wrap them up in the plastic wrap i set over the scale when portioning.
